Callum Elder says the team have to continue working hard to try and turn their form around as quickly as possible as Hull City prepare to host Coventry City.

The Tigers haven’t faced the Sky Blues for around nine years, and will be looking to secure an important three points as they look to move out of the relegation zone.

“It’s going to be a tough game,” said Elder.

“We watched a bit of them this morning (Thursday). We’re at home and we want to make sure that we attack the game and play on the front foot.

“They’ve had a great start to the season. They’ve got a strong structure and have goals in the team. We know that we’re up against a tough opponent, but we need to look at ourselves and see where we can hurt them first and foremost.”

The Tigers have struggled for form of late in the Championship, but Elder insists that there is still plenty of time for results to improve.

“It’s been a difficult start,” Elder added.

“We’re coming off the back of a season where we won a lot of games and it was a massive disappointment that the fans weren’t there to see us achieve the success of promotion.

“It’s been really disappointing (so far this season) and we’re sorry that we haven’t been able to get the results that everybody wants to achieve for this football club.

“We need to carry on working hard. There’s a long way to go and we need to carry on working hard and improving to make sure our form turns soon.”
