Di’Shon Bernard says the team are determined to build on their recent win against Middlesbrough as they prepare for a trip to the John Smith’s Stadium to face Huddersfield Town.
The 20-year-old defender returned to Grant McCann’s starting line-up before the international break for the visit of Neil Warnock’s side, and is hopeful the Tigers can pick up another three points.
“It’s good to have gone into the break with three points but I wish it had come at a later time because I’d have rather kept the momentum going,” Bernard said.
“I think that would’ve been better but we’re ready for the weekend. Hopefully, we can get another three points on the board.”
Not only did the Tigers secure their first home win of the season by beating Middlesbrough at the MKM Stadium, but they also secured their first clean sheet since the goalless draw against Swansea City at the start of September, something that Bernard was particularly pleased with.
“It was definitely good for us (to keep a clean sheet)," he added.
“It’s another confidence booster for the team and makes sure that we feel secure at the back again.
“Hopefully, we can get many more. I’m one hundred percent confident that we’ll start moving up the table.
“If we lose a game, then we know that we’ve just got to bounce back from it and get a win in the next one.
“We know their (Huddersfield’s) threat. We know that they’re not a bad side. I think we just need to be more solid as a unit (away from home).
“Hopefully, the win against Middlesbrough makes us more solid both home and away. I know that set-pieces have been a problem for us but it’s something we’re working on.”
