Defender Sean McLoughlin says the team have nothing to lose as Hull City prepare to visit West Bromwich Albion.
The Tigers head to The Hawthorns on the back of four consecutive defeats in the Championship - most recently falling to a 1-0 loss against Coventry City at the MKM Stadium.
Although the Tigers will head to the West Midlands as underdogs, McLoughlin believes this could work to their advantage.
“They have Premier League quality in their team,” McLoughlin said.
“We’re going there with nothing to lose. I don’t think anybody outside of our camp will give us a chance of getting a result there, but we can use that to our advantage.
“We have to take the character we showed in the second half (against Coventry City), and go out there and try and get a result. We want to surprise people and it does happen in football.
“You never know what’s going to happen.”
Despite losing 3-0 to Fulham at Craven Cottage in their most recent outing, West Brom remain one of the strong favourites to secure promotion back to the Premier League. McLoughlin believes that all of the pressure will be on the home side to get the three points.
“They’re expected to go out and win the game,” McLoughlin added.
“They’re at home and they’re in a good bit of form. It does take the pressure off us but that’s not going to make us take our foot off the gas.
“We're going there believing that we can get something out of the game. Hopefully that’ll be the case on the night.”
