Jarvis: Complete Team Performance

22 November 2021

Forward Will Jarvis hailed a complete team performance after the Under-23s' resounding 6-0 victory over Coventry City Under-23s.

The 18-year-old netted four goals against the Sky Blues, adding on to first-half goals from Randell Williams and Tyler Smith.

“I thought all the lads were excellent,” said Jarvis.

“Going into the game, we knew it was going to be a tough fixture as Coventry were top of the league, but all the boys gave 100% and I thought we were more clinical with our chances.

“Obviously, it’s always nice to score. Any player that scores a hat-trick, let alone four goals, is delighted, but it was just one of them games; everything just fell for me.

“Full credit goes to the midfield and defence. I thought the boys at the back and Harvey (Cartwright) were solid and all the attacking moves start from the back. Without the defence and midfield doing their job, I can’t get the ball to do my job so all credit to the boys to create those chances and keep that clean sheet.”

Jarvis was awarded his Uber Eats October Goal of the Month award before the first-team’s Championship fixture against Birmingham City, with his first goal against North Ferriby winning the public vote, and the forward was honoured to receive the accolade.

“It is a great award to receive,” added Jarvis.

“Any player is delighted to win goal of the month and I’m hopeful that I can keep scoring goals and doing what I do best to help the team moving forward.”
