Callum Elder, Josh Magennis, Harvey Cartwright and Sincere Hall have all been away over the last two weeks representing their countries on the international stage.
Under-18 midfielder Sincere Hall impressed as he represented Bermuda Under-20s in all three of their Concacaf Under-20 qualifying fixtures. The highlight of his time away with his country came against St Vincent and the Grenadines as he scored in a comfortable win.
Elsewhere, Josh Magennis played the entire 90 minutes as Northern Ireland produced their best performance of their World Cup qualifying campaign to secure a goalless draw against Italy, and subsequently deny the Azzurri automatic qualification for next year’s tournament. A few days before that, Magennis played 78 minutes in a 1-0 win against Lithuania at Windsor Park.
Callum Elder was named on the bench as Australia welcomed 23,000 fans into the Western Sydney Stadium for their first match on home soil in over two years. The Socceroos were held to a goalless draw in that game by Saudi Arabia, before the left-back was an unused substitute again in their second World Cup qualifier of the break which saw them draw against China.
Finally, Harvey Cartwright was an unused substitute for England Under-20s as they were beaten 2-0 in Leiria by Portugal Under-20s in their final outing of the year.
