Hull City U23s winger Ahmed Salam expressed how vital all three points were after the Tigers defeated Ipswich Town U23s 4-1 at the LNER Community Stadium.
The winger netted a hat-trick as the Tigers secured all three points in the Professional Development League.
“I feel like it was important that we got the win, because we haven’t had one for a while, so it’s good to get the three points and get back to winning ways again,” said Salam.
“I always felt during the game that we were on top, even though that sometimes Ipswich had good spells of possession.
“However, I don’t think they really hurt us as we had a good structure and we were patient to regain possession and break on the counter.
“It’s always good to get three goals as I'd gone a few games without a goal, but I kept working hard and doing the right things and luckily it all fell to me. The most important thing is that we all chipped in and got the three points.
“We now need to perform like that again on Thursday for Nottingham Forest. We need to prepare in the right way and go into the game hoping to get the three points.”
