McCann Relishing Peterborough Challenge

9 March 2021

Grant McCann is looking forward to Hull City’s next challenge, which presents a trip to his former club Peterborough United on Tuesday evening.

The Tigers and the Posh are currently joint-leaders of Sky Bet League One and McCann knows that means his side will be in for a tough test at the Weston Homes Stadium.

“It will be a tough game,” said McCann.

“Peterborough have been really good this season hence why they’ve been in and around the top end of the table for most of the campaign. They’re a good team with a good manager. It’s a club that I know very well having spent a lot of time there and there are some great people there.

“It’s just another game for us. We’ll go there to try and perform and to try and get the three points. It will be difficult in terms of the condition of the pitch and Peterborough will be used to playing on it. We’ll go there and look forward to the challenge, and hopefully we can get another three points.”

With less than two months of the regular season now remaining, McCann is predicting that there will be plenty of twists and turns to come for every team, and says his main focus is on ensuring his side continue to produce the kind of performances shown in the last three games that have resulted in three wins and three clean sheets.

“We’ve got 12 games left. There’s going to be ups and downs, twists and turns,” added McCann.

“There’ll be games that you feel teams should win and they don’t, that’s just the way this league is. You don’t know what’s going to happen from one week to the next. All we can do is try and control what we can do and try to keep our performances good. I’ve been pleased with the last three games in terms of performances which have brought seven goals and three clean sheets."
