Local Teams To Benefit From The Tigers' Goal-Scoring Exploits

29 March 2021

Hull City and KCOM have teamed up once again to give local clubs a boost with the KCOM Kits initiative.

For a second successive season, every home goal scored by the Tigers results in KCOM donating a full team kit to a local side. Kits are comprised of 15 outfield shirts, shorts and socks as well as a full goalkeeper kit to make sure the winning teams look their best out on the pitch.

At the end of the 2019/20 season, 29 local clubs benefitted from KCOM’s generosity, and the Tigers’ form in front of goal during the current campaign means that plenty more teams can look forward to sporting a new kit for 2021/22.

And, should Grant McCann’s men find the back of the net in the Easter Monday home game against Northampton Town, KCOM have agreed to ‘double-up’ the goal tally for the day to add to the current total of 22.

Joe Clutterbrook, Hull City’s Head of Commercial & Marketing, added: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with KCOM for the KCOM Kits initiative once again. KCOM support the local community in such great ways, and so many local teams will benefit from this especially as we come towards the end of what has been a really challenging period for local sides and the grassroots game in general. With a few home games still to go, hopefully there are a few more goals to be scored so that we can beat last season’s total and help even more local teams.”

Barton Juniors Under-9s were one of the beneficiaries of last season’s efforts and their coach Rob O’Mara says receiving their new kit provided a massive boost to the team.

“I’d been scratching around for some sponsorship for a new kit for the girls, because they’d outgrown the old one they had, but with Covid and everything else, there wasn’t much help around,” Rob explained.

“I heard about KCOM Kits on Facebook and decided to have a go. And then, when I got the call saying we’d won, it was just a massive relief and felt like a huge weight being lifted. The girls absolutely love the kits and it has really helped them bond as a team. It gives them that special sense of camaraderie and of being a unit when it comes to matchday and it’s fantastic to see.”
