Wilks Nominated For PFA Fans’ Player Of The Year Award

14 June 2021

Forward Mallik Wilks has been nominated for the PFA Fans’ Player of the Year Award, sponsored by Bristol Street Motors.

The 22-year-old topped the Tigers’ goalscoring charts after netting 22 goals in 50 appearances in all competitions.

Nineteen of those strikes came in League One, including a promotion-winning penalty in the decisive 2-1 victory at Lincoln.

The attacker netted crucial late winners in both league fixtures against Crewe, braces against Rochdale and Doncaster, as well as his first senior hat-trick in the 5-0 win at Wigan.

Wilks also provided eight league assists – the third most in the Hull City squad – putting him ahead of his teammates in terms of goal contributions with 27.

Blackpool duo Chris Maxwell and Jerry Yates, Peterborough’s Jonson Clarke-Harris, Sunderland’s Charlie Wyke and AFC Wimbledon’s Joe Pigott complete the six-man shortlist.
