Hull City are delighted to announce the signing of 25-year-old midfielder Andy Cannon.
Cannon, who recently left Portsmouth after a two-and-a-half year stay on the south coast, has agreed a two-year deal with the Tigers, with a Club option of a further year.
The former Rochdale man made 43 appearances in League One during the 2020/21 season, scoring twice and contributing three assists, as Pompey narrowly missed out on a play-off place.
Speaking about the signing of Cannon, Hull City Head Coach Grant McCann said: “Andy is an all-action midfielder who likes to get on the ball and make things happen.
“We like the energy and aggression that he will bring and we’re looking forward to seeing him compete with the likes of Greg Docherty, George Honeyman and Richie Smallwood.
“He is a really good character with a strong winning mentality, and he will fit the dynamics of our changing room nicely whilst also being eager to continue to learn and develop as a player. There was a lot of competition for Andy’s signature so we’re delighted that he has chosen to come here and we can’t wait to work with him.”
Cannon will join up with his new teammates when the first team squad returns for pre-season training at the end of the month.
