Hull City Under-23 Josh Hinds believes the team can make further improvements despite defeating Pickering Town 3-1 at Mill Lane.
The striker netted the equaliser and a second-half brace from Will Jarvis secured the Tigers their second victory in pre-season.
“I am very happy with the result,” said Hinds.
“We played some good stuff and we were able to score some good goals, however, we do have a lot to work on.
“We had a slow start and Pickering Town were on top for the opening 15 minutes, but we stuck in, defended well and scored the next goal, which helped us going forward.
“It was good to play against men, especially as we had a young team out. We had some scholars mixed with some first-year professionals, so it was a good test playing against experienced players and overall I thought we did well.”
Hinds has netted in both the Under-23s' pre-season fixtures, scoring a penalty against North Ferriby in the Billy Bly Memorial Trophy, and is pleased with his performances ahead of Bridlington Town on Saturday.
“I’m happy with my performances, but I’m mainly happy with the win,” Hinds added.
“It’s always good to score and create some goals. We have a strong team and the competition for places is great. It’s good for the team overall and hopefully we can get a lot of wins this season.
“I’m looking forward to the Bridlington Town fixture. Hopefully we can build on this win and make it three wins from three in pre-season.”
