Midfielder Daniel Crowley is targeting a much-improved performance when Hull City return to the KCOM Stadium this afternoon.
Swindon Town are today’s visitors to East Yorkshire, and the Tigers’ recent signing Crowley says that he and his Hull City teammates know what they need to do to make amends following a disappointing defeat at Accrington Stanley in midweek.
“I’ve been really impressed with the team,” said Crowley. “Even in training the intensity has been really good. Portsmouth are a good side and we battered them with a great team performance. The lads were great and that’s the standard now.
“When you set those levels, you have to try and do that week-in, week-out, which is tough in this league because the games come thick and fast with some really tough opposition but we’re more than capable of producing that every week now.
“As I mentioned before, when you have those standards with the win over Accrington the week before and also Portsmouth, those are the levels we have set now and I just think the game was against a really tough opposition where the pitch and conditions were not great but we have to put it to bed now and realise what went wrong and what we need to do today.
“We’re focused on putting that behind us and focusing on putting it right today. We know what we need to put right and we’ve been working on that in training. We need to get the three points and keep our performance levels up so we can get back to winning ways.
“What I’ve seen from this league already is that everyone has a good team. If you’re not on it as a team then it’s going to be a really tough game because every team is a difficult opposition to beat.”
