The Club would like to thank supporters for the phenomenal response we have received since our new away kit was made available to pre-order last month.
Unprecedented demand means that, unfortunately, there will be a delay in away kits being dispatched, and it also means that the kit won’t be going on sale in store this Friday as initially announced.
Joe Clutterbrook, Chief Commercial Officer for Hull City, said: “The response from our fans, and across the world of football, to our new away kit has been absolutely incredible and we’re delighted that it has been received so well.
“At the same time, we would like to apologise for the delay in dispatching pre-orders and to the kit going on general sale in store. Quite frankly, we weren’t prepared for the response the kit has received. We sold out of our total order of adult sizes in the first two days of pre-sale. This, combined with an internal error with our systems, and the lengthy lead time on delivery of a new order, will unfortunately create delays on the fulfillment of some pre-orders.
“The dispatch of the majority of pre-orders is likely to begin in the next fortnight. Some pre-orders will not be able to be dispatched this month and those customers affected will receive an email this week with more details. We have placed a re-order with Umbro but that new delivery, allowing the kit to go on general sale, is unlikely to be with us before October.
“We will, of course, update supporters as soon as we have more conformed details and we would like to thank everybody that has placed an order for their support.”
Hull City’s new home kit will go on sale in store as planned this coming Friday, with pre-orders being sent out from today.
