An in-depth look at the career of new loan signing Regan Slater…
Born in Gleadless, the 21-year-old progressed through Sheffield United’s academy and captained their youth team.
The midfielder became the Blades’ youngest-ever goalscorer when netting on his professional debut in a 4-2 EFL Trophy victory at Grimsby in November 2016, aged 17.
His league debut came the following December in a 1-0 Championship defeat at Preston, while he also featured in an FA Cup win at Ipswich – his last Blades outing to date.
Slater spent the 2018/19 season on loan with League Two side Carlisle, making 41 appearances in all competitions.
He scored twice for the Cumbrians, with both goals coming in a 4-0 thrashing of Swindon at the County Ground.
Last season saw Slater complete another temporary switch, this time to Scunthorpe, where he featured 15 times in league and cup.
In total, Slater has made 59 career appearances and scored three goals.
