Hull City U18 Louis Beckett says he’s happy that he contributed to the Tigers first victory of the season. The midfielder netted a brace for himself after Oliver Green converted from the penalty spot in their 3-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday.
“The three points is all that mattered today, however I’m delighted to be scoring and contributing to the team,” said Beckett.
“We didn’t really deserve to lose either of our first two fixtures before this game and I think it was a perfect first-half performance, because we started off very well by getting three goals early on and it made everybody confident.
“We pressed Sheffield Wednesday well and obviously got three very good goals from that, but then in the second half, I thought we were sloppy and we gave away a cheap goal at the end, which I think was the only negative from the game to lose the clean sheet.
“I’m delighted to be scoring and contributing to the team, however the three points is all that mattered. It’s good to get the first win of the season and we now move onto Birmingham City next week.”
