Grant McCann expects to be without a number of first team players following the return of positive Covid-19 tests early last week.
The Tigers’ Head Coach will assess a couple of those players when they return to training from self isolation today, but feels that Saturday’s game against Charlton Athletic may be too soon for the duo.
“We’re hoping to have maybe a couple of the players back,” said McCann. “Whether they’re going to be fit and available for the weekend - we’re not sure. We’ll see how they are over the next couple of days.
“We will be missing some players. It’s not ideal for us really because we haven’t seen each other for ten days but the players have worked hard on plans that we set them. We’ve monitored them every day and they’ve put some good distance into their legs, so we know how much we can push them over the next couple of days leading into the Charlton game.
“The good news is that the players who are self-isolating at this present time are on the mend and they’re getting better. The physios and doctors are making sure they they are all good every single day.
“It is a blow to lose these players but we hope that they get better soon. We had another round of testing on Tuesday and every result has come back negative, which is good.”
McCann was pleased to report no new injury concerns within the camp, meaning that only Callum Jones will miss Saturday's match through injury.
