McCann Previews Doncaster Test

2 December 2020

Grant McCann wants this Hull City side to continue their impressive league form when they welcome Doncaster Rovers to the KCOM Stadium this evening.

The Tigers, who have won their last three Sky Bet League One matches, face a tough test from McCann’s former side, who are currently placed tenth in the league table.

“It’s another opportunity for us,” said McCann. “We’ve had a great response from Swindon with three wins. We want to continue that.

“We’re in good form at the minute. I’ve been really pleased with the hunger to defend, our organisation and shape of the team, and the threat we are showing at the top end of the pitch.

“It all comes from our defensive shape and structure, everyone buying into it. The hard work, the sprinting, the reactions, winning the ball back quick has got us the results in the last few weeks.

“The boys are working really hard. Even in training they don’t like conceding. Whether it’s in a small-sided game or 11 v 11, they’ve got a real hunger and desire to keep the ball out of the back of the net.

“I had a really good time at Doncaster and there are a lot of good people there, people who I worked with and brought into the club that are still there. I’ve got nothing but admiration for the owners and chief executive.”
