Grant McCann was full of praise for his Hull City side following the dramatic late victory over Doncaster.
Tom Eaves’ 87th-minute goal earned the Tigers a fourth successive fourth league win after Tyreece John-Jules had cancelled out Josh Magennis’ thunderous first-half opener.
“I thought it was a really good performance, bar a 10-15-minute spell in the second half were we just got a bit lax with our shape and they took advantage of it,” said McCann.
“They’re one of the better footballing teams in the league but I thought for large periods of the game we were very comfortable.
“We kept coming and coming and coming. My boys did everything to score another goal at 1-0. We hit the post, had shots blocked, the keeper made some really good saves.
“Sometimes you’ve got to give the opposition credit for their defensive abilities. I thought Doncaster did that and stood strong against us were some other teams may have wilted.
“We had to keep going. We conceded a goal off their first shot on target.
“The subs made a really good impact again – James Scott, Keano (Lewis-Potter), Eavesy – and they helped us get three points.
“I was really pleased to get the job done at the end.”
