Lead Academy Analyst

Hull City have an exciting role available within our Academy for a Lead Academy Analyst. We are looking for someone with previous experience working within football, who will be responsible for the development and delivery of analysis for our Academy Under 21’s teams.

 

Location: Bishop Burton College, York Road, Bishop Burton, HU17 8QG

Salary: £25,000 per annum

 

The successful candidate will report to the Academy Manager and be responsible for the Assistant Academy Analyst, alongside any Interns and Student Volunteers. This is a permanent position working full-time hours,  with unsociable and weekend hours also expected in order to support the Club.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Primarily the Lead Analyst for the Under 21’s
  • Film and code all U21’s fixtures including all away games
  • Provide U21’s with pre match analysis of opponents, sourcing footage of opponents
  • Facilitate the review of U21’s fixtures
  • Collate data from U21’s matches and provide detailed breakdown for coaches
  • Feedback and Statistical Analysis of all U21’s fixtures
  • Video PDP training sessions when requested
  • Monitor technical and tactical data throughout the season and report back to senior staff and coaches quarterly
  • Maintain dialogue with First Team Analysts to ensure best practice is shared and information is exchanged
  • Work in collaboration with the Head of Coaching to monitor and evaluate team and individual KPIs in line with EPPP requirements
  • Liaise with coaches and players in preparation for analysis sessions
  • Maintain all equipment pertaining to analysis and regularly check software and hardware developments that may be pertinent to the role
  • Mentor any interns or student volunteers providing support and advice
  • Develop new ways of presenting data to players and coaches
  • Manage Hudl access for all academy players making sure all new signings are added in a timely manner
  • Work with First Team Analyst to help create player profile for players looking for loan moves
  • Create player profiles for U21’s who have been released
  • Work with MDT to facilitate any individual monitoring
  • Endeavor to film PDP trialist when requested
  • Code trialist footage with strengths and weakness highlighted for recruitment meetings for both PDP and YDP when possible
  • Coordination of Academy Performance Analysis Schedule U9-U16’s
  • Ensure there is a suitable number of interns/student volunteers to facilitate the filming of all academy matches
  • Filming and Coding of Academy fixtures U9’s – U16’s
  • Development of cutting edge Code Windows and Statistical Output
  • Develop motivational and supportive materials for individuals and teams throughout the Academy
  • Archive academy match footage and statistical data
  • Assist with in-service training/CPD events
  • Organise CPD events and deliver to players and staff around performance analysis
  • Work with HOC to provide a database of sessions for use by Academy coaches
  • Advanced IT support to Academy Staff
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as Hull University and Bishop Burton College
  • Keep abreast of any advances and progressions within performance analysis
  • Carry out additional duties / sessions as directed by The Academy Manager & Head of Academy Recruitment

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within football
  • Educated to Degree level in relevant field
